Santa’s Arrival – Friday, December 7 – 5:30-8:30pm

NorthStar Church is excited to partner with the City of Acworth each year to make Santa’s Arrival the best Christmas event in town!  Santa will be reaching downtown Acworth on Friday, December 7, 2018.  around 6:30 p.m.  There will be several live performances into the evening to help Santa kickoff the holiday season. Those in attendance can enjoy pictures with Santa, face painting, a petting zoo, train rides, and hot chocolate.  And, don’t forget to visit Frana Brown Park, where you can peruse the beautiful Festival of Trees!

 

Breakfast with Santa – Saturday, December 8 – 8:00-11:15am

The Kennesaw Acworth Optimist Club is hosting an “all you care to  eat” breakfast complete with pancakes, sausage juice, coffee and table to table visits with the jolly old Elf himself. Grandma Elf will also be doing holiday readings for the big and little alike. Seatings are available from 8:00am to 9:15am, or 10:am to 11:15am. Tickets are only $6 per person and can be purchased online at www.kennesaw-ga.gov/parks-and-recreation.

 

Saturdays with Santa  – December 8 and 15

On Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 15, the City of Acworth will be celebrating “Christmas in Acworth”!  Santa will be at the Plaza beside Acworth City Hall for pictures from 1-5pm both days.  Pictures are free of charge.  Make sure to bring your own camera to capture this special moment, as no photographer will be on-site.  In addition to pictures, there will also be free horse and carriage rides available on both Saturdays departing from the Plaza.  We hope to see you this holiday season for Christmas in Acworth!

 

Santa’s Workshop at Southern Museum

The Southern Museum is assisting Santa this year with his toy production and hosting a special day for families. Using the Glover Machine Works exhibit, staff will transform the factory floor into Santa’s Workshop where children and families may meet and take pictures with Santa. The big guy himself, along with Mrs. Claus, arrive at 1:00pm to begin with a story and holiday sing-along.

The Polar Express will be shown in the theater at 10am and 2pm. Visitors will also get a chance to make their own wood ornament to take home and view two holiday themed train layouts. Guests are encouraged to wear their best Polar Express pajamas or holiday sweaters to the museum.

Christmas Lights to See!

Who doesn’t love seeing fantastic light displays during the holidays? Here’s a short list of some of the places to check out or get photos this Christmas season:

  • NorthStar Church – Gazebo and Bridge – Long a popular place for wedding, prom photos, and senior portaits, NorthStar Church’s covered bridge and gazebo will be trimmed with lights and Christmas décor throughout the month of December.
  • Taylor Residence on Ben King Road – Kennesaw – located across the street from Gateway Church on Ben King Road, this sprawling magical light display is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit!

Live Nativity Celebration – St. Teresa’s Episcopal Church, Acworth – Friday and Saturday, December 14-15

The entire community is invited to come out to this outdoor presentation to see and hear the Nativity Story. The presentation is offered every 30 minutes from 6:00pm til 9:00pm both nights, and includes complimentary refreshments, musical entertainment, and live animals.
